For a night in the mountains, escape the hottest days in town and visit Dar Tassa, for a night, a trek, a first class meal , either in this Berber guest house or at the nearby, famous, Sangleur qui Fume. Dar Tassa opens this summer, transport can be arranged direct from the apartment: and a 10% discount is offered in conjunction with your stay: more info.

Excursions
Beyond Marrakech there is a broad and foreign country, bordered by the Atlantic, the Atlas mountains and then the Sahara desert. Excursions are plentiful and in the Gueliz there are many tour companies to chose from. A tour encompassing Ouarzazate and a camel ride in Zagora will take from two days upwards, though that would involve a lot of driving. If you decide to broach the Sahara by camel then I recommend you bring a cushion!

Essaouira always gets a tremendous response from visitors. Everyone who has made it over there has only sung its praises. Easy going, with good swimming and outstanding seafood it is one of the few places anywhere of which i have only had good reports. It can be reached by taxi, & hire car: a few hours trip by bus, there are a variety of connecting services from Marrakech.
